Should you choose a Pinterest Manager or a Social Media Manager?

How to work remotely with your Pinterest Manager
Are you wondering what a Pinterest Manager does for their clients?
If you've been thinking about outsourcing your Pinterest marketing you might be wondering if you need a Social Media Manager or a Pinterest Manager, how a Pinterest Manager works and what tasks you can expect them to do (as well as the results you can expect them to achieve for you).
In this article, I'll explain more about what a Pinterest Manager does and what you should expect from them.
A Pinterest Manager is the term used to describe someone who manages the Pinterest account for your business.
It's important to remember that each Pinterest Manager will have their own strengths and specialisms. This could be Pinterest management for service-based businesses or product-based businesses or they might specialise in a particular industry or niche.
Your Pinterest expert will oversee the day to day running of your accounts, create and schedule your pins, and consult with you regularly about the amount of traffic you are seeing to your website and how people are engaging with your content. They will report your results back to you on a monthly basis.
As a platform, Pinterest is continually evolving and is constantly being updated with new features. This is why it’s important to ensure you are working with a Pinterest expert who is keeping their knowledge up to date with the current best practices on the platform.
A Pinterest expert will create a Pinterest profile that consistently drives traffic back to your website. They will be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your Pinterest account and create a strategy that will help you to achieve your business goals.
While a social media manager can post for you on Pinterest, their knowledge of the platform may not be up to date, and they may struggle to help you build your following and convert your audience into paying customers.
Pinterest Managers have many skills that can be moulded to the exact needs of your business.
Your Pinterest Expert should be able to:
It's important to set expectations from the beginning of your working relationship. Have an agreement in place that outlines what tasks your Pinterest expert will complete for you each month.
A good Pinterest Manager will research your products or services and sector in-depth on Pinterest and work with you to create a strategy that will help you achieve your business goals.
They should be able to increase the rate of traffic to your website and also suggest improvements to your ‘pinner journey’ from discovery on Pinterest to buyer.
Unless otherwise agreed, it is not your Pinterest manager’s responsibility to write your blogs, update your website or improve your visitor conversion rate.
Remember—your Pinterest expert can only work with the content and website you provide. If they recommend improvements to your sales process and website, it is up to you to implement them so that you can get the best return on your investment.
You are paying for time and expertise. A great Pinterest Manager will not offer the earth each month for only £99. Expect to pay in the region of between £500 – £1000 per month for an awesome Pinterest expert who knows how to get you results.
Your fees should also include the use of paid-for scheduling and content creation apps (which are expensive!).
Remember – they are the expert! Let them get on with what they do best and try not to micro-manage them.
There are various ways to work remotely with your Pinterest Manager. You will probably find that they have systems in place already for sharing documents, ideas, files, videos and photos.
A great Pinterest Manager will have an onboarding process that takes you through everything you need to know about working with them, and the systems that are in place for you to share information.
1. Have you worked with any clients before with a similar business to mine?
2. Can you tell me about some of the results you have achieved in the past?
3. What type of content do you recommend for my account?
4. Is the scheduling software included in the price?
5. What information would you need from me?
6. Do you have an onboarding process?
7. Do you have set packages or can you create a custom quote?
